The category filter lives in the right panel of the News page. It organizes every news event into 10 themed groups with 34 event types, each showing a live article count for the current time window. Use it to scope the feed to exactly the kind of news you care about.
The panel is always visible on the News page alongside the main feed.
Single click — select
Click a category once to select it (checkbox appears).Click additional categories to build a multi-category selection — the feed shows articles matching any of the selected types.
Insighthread single-click select — checkbox appears and the feed filters to matching articles; click more categories to add them
Double click — execute
Double-click a category to immediately apply it as a sole filter, bypassing the checkbox selection step.The feed jumps straight to that single event type.
Insighthread double-click — immediately executes the filter for that single category without entering multi-select mode
The count next to each category reflects the number of articles in the current time window. A dash (–) means no articles for that type right now.
