# Watchlists: Monitor and Track Your Stocks in Real Time

> Insighthread Watchlists let you monitor specific stocks with live price moves, filtered news, and filing alerts — all organized by your own custom lists.

Watchlists let you focus Insighthread's real-time intelligence on the specific companies you care about. Once you add tickers, your news feed and filing feed automatically filter to show only your watched stocks — so instead of sifting through filings and headlines for thousands of companies, you see exactly what's relevant to you, the moment it happens.

## Creating a Watchlist

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Watchlists section">
    Select **Watchlists** from the left sidebar. If this is your first time, you'll see a prompt to create your first list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name your watchlist">
    Click **New Watchlist** and give it a meaningful name — for example, "AI Stocks", "Biotech", or "Q3 Watchlist". You can create as many lists as you need.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add tickers">
    Search for companies by name or ticker symbol, or type naturally — for example, "Add NVDA, MSFT, and GOOGL". Insighthread understands plain language, so you don't need to navigate separate menus to build your list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Go live">
    Your watchlist is active immediately. Price movements appear in real time, and your news and filing feeds update to reflect your watched tickers.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Using Natural Language to Add Tickers

You don't need to search for each stock individually. Insighthread's natural language input lets you add tickers by typing phrases the way you'd say them out loud. Try inputs like:

* "Add NVDA to my AI Stocks list"
* "Add Tesla and Ford to my EV watchlist"
* "Remove INTC from Growth Plays"

Insighthread interprets your intent and updates the correct list automatically — no dropdowns, no multi-step forms.

## What You See on a Watchlist

Every watchlist gives you a consolidated view of the stocks you're tracking:

* **Live price changes** — real-time price and percentage moves for each ticker
* **Recent news events** — headlines filtered to your watched companies only
* **Latest filings** — SEC filings from your tickers surface at the top of the filing feed
* **One-click company access** — tap any ticker to jump directly to its full company profile

## Managing Multiple Lists

You can maintain as many watchlists as you need, each organized around a different theme, strategy, or sector. Switch between them instantly using the sidebar. Each list maintains its own filtered news and filing feed, so switching lists also switches your research context.

<Tip>
  Create separate watchlists for different strategies — for example, "Growth", "Dividend Income", and "Biotech Pipeline" — to keep each feed tightly focused. Mixing unrelated tickers in a single list makes it harder to spot relevant signals quickly.
</Tip>

<Note>
  Watchlists launched on **June 20, 2026**. If you don't see the Watchlists option in your sidebar, make sure you're on the latest version of the Insighthread app at [app.insighthread.com](https://app.insighthread.com).
