# Set Up Insighthread Event Alerts and Notifications

> Configure Insighthread notifications to get alerted when high-impact SEC filing events appear for companies in your watchlist or across the market.

Insighthread can alert you the moment high-impact events surface for the companies you're watching — so you never miss a critical SEC filing, earnings release, or market-moving disclosure. Whether you prefer real-time in-app pings, email alerts, or a weekly digest, you can tailor notifications to match how you research.

## Types of Notifications

Insighthread offers three notification channels, each serving a different workflow:

    A free Monday morning digest of that week's most significant SEC-sourced market events — available to **all users**, including those without a paid subscription.

## Configuring Notification Preferences

You can customize exactly what you're notified about, when, and through which channel — all from your account settings.

    Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the app and select **Account Settings**.

  <Step title="Navigate to Notifications">
    Click the **Notifications** tab in the settings sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Toggle your preferred channels">
    Enable or disable **In-App Notifications** and **Email Alerts** independently. You can run both simultaneously or use just one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a minimum impact level">
    Choose the lowest event severity that should trigger a notification — for example, set the threshold to **Major** or **Critical** to filter out lower-signal events and keep your alerts focused.

  <Step title="Limit alerts to your Watchlist">
    Optionally enable the **Watchlist Only** toggle to restrict notifications to companies you've added to your watchlist. This is strongly recommended — Insighthread covers 6,000+ companies, and unfiltered alerts can become overwhelming quickly.

<Tip>
  Set your minimum alert level to **Major** or **Critical** so you only get notified for the highest-impact events. With 6,000+ public companies on the platform, leaving the threshold at its lowest setting can result in a high volume of alerts that dilute the signal you actually care about.

## Weekly Newsletter

The Insighthread weekly newsletter is a free Monday morning digest that rounds up the most significant SEC-sourced market events from the past week. Events are categorized by type — earnings, filings, insider activity, and more — so you can scan quickly and drill in where it matters.

The newsletter is available to **all users**, including those who don't have an active paid subscription. It's a great way to stay on top of market activity even during weeks when you're not actively using the app.
